UK signals

The block no global directory publishes: whether the company trades in the UK, whether it bills in sterling, whether it charges VAT and issues a VAT invoice, when its support is actually open in UK time, and where the data sits. Every line is what the vendor publishes, or a record that it does not.

What the cover includes

This is the sharpest differentiator in the category: guest-caused theft, vandalism and accidental damage sit outside the Homeprotect holiday let policy, whereas Boshers includes both as standard and Schofields, Pikl, Policy Powerhouse and Miller & Partner cover them as standard or as a paid extension. Do not compare on headline limits alone.

Our verdict

Homeprotect is the most transparent entry in this category on cover limits and the only one offering a straight-through online purchase. It is a trading name of Avantia Insurance Limited, an independently owned insurance intermediary authorised by the FCA under FRN 304432, and its policies are underwritten by AXA — named prominently rather than buried. The holiday let page publishes actual figures rather than feature names: public liability up to £5 million, loss of rent up to £30,000 where paying guests cannot stay after an insured loss, buildings to £1 million, contents from £25,000, home emergency to £500 and family legal protection to £25,000, both included as standard. Airbnb is named explicitly — 'property covered for non-paying and paying guests including Airbnb' — and cover extends to properties standing empty for 30 days or more between stays, subject to inspection conditions. The significant limitation, stated plainly on the pages, is guest-caused loss: accidental damage is available only on family-use holiday homes and not where there are paying guests, and the holiday let page lists theft, vandalism and accidental damage caused by paying guests among the exclusions. For an operator whose main worry is guest-caused breakage or theft, that is a material gap — Boshers includes both as standard, and the specialist brokers in this category cover them as standard or as a paid extension — so these policies are not comparable on headline limits alone. Quoting is online only, quoted at under ten minutes; no sales phone number is published.

Third-party scores

Cited as text with the source and the date we pulled it. We do not mark these up as our own rating, and we publish no first-party reviews until we have real, verified users.

No third-party score was pulled for this listing. That is a gap in our record, not a judgement on the product.
