Our verdict

SuperControl publishes the single most useful dataset in this category for a UK cottage owner: a channel comparison table that names roughly two dozen distribution partners and states, for each, whether the connection is a full two-way integration, rates-and-availability only, or iCal availability only, together with the joining fee or commission. On that criterion no other system we checked comes close. Cottages.com syncs rates and availability subject to property acceptance; Hoseasons is iCal availability only; Independent Cottages is availability at £125 a year; Snaptrip needs 20 properties and TripAdvisor 25. Vrbo splits by legal status, with a full integration for VAT-registered and limited companies and iCal for everyone else. Sykes Cottages does not appear in the table. The trade-off is price transparency: the pricing page renders a calculator rather than a rate card, so the monthly figure and the joining fee are both unpublished, and there is a 1% service fee on bookings from the main OTAs plus Cottages.com.
