Our verdict

Truvi is the only vendor in this category that is genuinely a UK company, and the only one that publishes GBP list prices. It was Superhog until January 2025; the legal entity, Truvi Technologies Limited, has been registered at Companies House since March 2019. That matters practically, not just patriotically: pricing is quoted per booking in pounds (£10.20 screening-only, £15.85 to £23.90 for screening plus damage protection), you are charged in the month the booking checks in, and the vendor states you are not charged at all if a guest is rejected or cancels. Screening itself is lighter than the marketing suggests. The automatic layer is a watchlist of guests who previously caused damage and refused to pay, plus email and phone validation, returning Approved, Flagged or Rejected. ID verification is a paid add-on with biometric selfie matching. Criminal-record and sex-offender checks exist but are explicitly USA only, so a Cornwall or Highlands operator is buying identity assurance and damage cover, not background screening. The damage protection is not insurance and Truvi says so plainly: it is insurance-backed under an underwriting agreement with an insurer it does not name. Pet damage, liability and lost income are excluded. Integrations are broad and include Bookster and Uplisting, the two UK-built PMSs. Support hours, UK phone number and data residency are not published.
