UK signals

The block no global directory publishes: whether the company trades in the UK, whether it bills in sterling, whether it charges VAT and issues a VAT invoice, when its support is actually open in UK time, and where the data sits. Every line is what the vendor publishes, or a record that it does not.

Available to UK operators
Not publishedNOT EVIDENCED EITHER WAY. No vendor page checked states which countries are eligible. The site offers Spanish, German and French language versions and the consultation form includes a country selector alongside a US state selector, which implies some non-US reach, but there is no statement that UK properties can be covered. Treat UK availability as unconfirmed - do not publish as available.

Our verdict

Waivo is damage cover and nothing else. There is no identity verification, no risk score and no screening layer, so it is not a like-for-like alternative to Truvi or Autohost - it competes only on the protection half of the category. What it does, it describes clearly. Limits run from $500 to $20,000 for guest-caused damage, with $1,500 and $5,000 the most commonly chosen; there is no deductible, and cover extends to intentional damage, theft with a police report, and pet damage. Liability is stated at $1,000,000. Claims are contractually answered within two business days, usually within one. Two routes exist: an enterprise product for property managers, and WaivoNow, a self-serve portal for independent hosts with three or fewer properties or fewer than ten bookings a month. For a UK reader there are three problems and they are all about disclosure. Pricing is entirely quote-only - the $15-per-booking figure circulating in industry write-ups appears nowhere on Waivo's own site. The underwriter is not named on any page. And crucially, Waivo publishes no country eligibility list at all, so whether a Cornish cottage or a Highland lodge can actually be covered is unanswerable from public information. The company is in Bozeman, Montana, with a US phone line, USD limits and no GBP pricing. Note also that waivo.com does not resolve; the live site is waivo.io.

Third-party scores

Cited as text with the source and the date we pulled it. We do not mark these up as our own rating, and we publish no first-party reviews until we have real, verified users.

No third-party score was pulled for this listing. That is a gap in our record, not a judgement on the product.
